Residential Home Manager

Responsibilities

➢ To have overall responsibility for managing service users admitted into the service.

➢ To determine staffing, financial, material and other short-and long-term requirements to meet service needs.

➢ To ensure regular risk and needs assessment review of all service users.

➢ Manage the Senior & Support Workers/Assistants within the Residential and supported accommodation services.

➢ To ensure provision of high-quality care support to service users in line with the service specifications/placement plan and requirements of individual resident/tenant/service user. 

➢ To collaborate with healthcare agencies and emergency services to ensure the wellbeing and safeguarding of residents/service users.

➢ To participate in recruitment and employment proceedings.

➢ To recommend and oversee staff training and re-training.

➢ Take a lead in safeguarding of vulnerable persons.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Experience

➢ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care.

➢ A recognized social work qualification or a professional qualification relevant to working with Mental health patients at level 4 or NVQ Level 4 in Health & Social Care will be considered.

➢ Knowledge and understanding of general and UK MentalRegulations: The Mental Health Acts (1983) 2007, Mental Capacity Act/DOLs and other related legislations, policies and procedures.

➢ Experience of care home accommodation services.

➢ Experience of working within an assessment and support planning framework.

➢ Experience in Staff Management - Use of appropriate leadership styles to resolve conflict, solve problems, elicit performance and motivate, support and direct staff.

➢ Effective ability to use computer system.

Senior Support Worker/Team Leaders

Responsibilities

➢ To oversee and manage the physical resources of the residence in-line with guidelines / legal requirements whilst leading the staff team on shift

➢ Responsible for promoting equal opportunities for all service users and staff, and challenge any behaviour or practice discriminating against any resident or colleague on the grounds of race, religion, disability, age, gender, sexual orientation or any other perceived difference.

➢ Ensuring that each staff member is aware of each service users’ care plan and their responsibilities or its implementation.

➢ Manage the Support Workers and Support Assistants within the care support and accommodation services.

➢ Coordinating service users support plan, 1:1 session with service users and appointments with other healthcare professionals.

➢ The Safeguard Champion: Protecting our vulnerable residents, Maintaining clean and safe environment.

Support Worker

Responsibilities

➢ To develop and maintain skills and knowledge and ensure that care support is delivered according to latest guidelines and best practice evidence available.

➢ Ensure that clear and accurate records and communication systems relating to clinical and care delivery are maintained and effectively used.

➢ Ensure the ongoing safety of residents, staff and visitors through systematic assessment, monitoring and reviewing processes.

➢ Promote the professional image of the services through excellent communication, appropriate behavior and professional appearance.

➢ Support new Team Leaders and care staff in the completion of induction programs, training and competency assessment.

➢ To work in collaboration with staff from other agencies, such as Health, Education, Police, as well as service providers from within the Department or from the Private or Voluntary Sector.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

➢ A qualification in the social field (e.g. social work or psychology) is desirable. Students working towards such a qualification are will be considered.

➢ Willingness to undertake training and achieve competence within 6 months of commencement of employment.
